Blog 4°: A day to remember

A remarkable day to me, maybe the most important of all, happened in the summer of 2005. I remember it because it was the first time I went to my father´s family place in the southern part of our country.

None of us but my dad wanted to go there, because the few times we meet my father´s family, we find we aren´t much alike, and it´s often an uncomfortable time.

My bro´s 7 years older than me, so you can understand we were always arguing and fighting, mainly because he didn´t stop mocking me, and that pissed me off .  But that summer something changed.
I associate it with the mental growth: I started to understand  other things and to get other kind of jokes, so I replied his mocking, making him laugh in a better way, at least to me.

One of  those days, we started to talk and we found we had pretty similar interests. We were talking all night long I guess, from the stupidest thing to the way to solve all problems in life.
From then on, we got along very well, and we had a great time that summer, even with the rest of the family... I suppose congeniality is something you learn step by step.

I can tell it´s a remarkable day to my bro too, cause he says it to me sometimes. Now, we always laugh at any nonsense together , but we also can maintain serious conversations.
It´s said you don´t choose your family, but you can choose your friends. I suppose I started the most important friendship of all that day, one I hope to last forever.

Blog 3°: A country I would like to visit

Honestly I wouldn`t like to go anywhere outside my country, mainly because I think it`s quite varied in here, when it comes to weather, for example.
Also, if you want to travel around, you can go to the beach, to the mountains, to the country, to islands or even the glaciers.

But if I have to choose, I would like to go to Dominican Republic. The reason is that my uncle has gone there many times with my aunt and my cousin, and they say it`s quite fun.

I don`t know much about it, because when they go, they stay in hotels and they don`t traverse too much, but the places seem good and comforting, looking at the pictures. I`ve heard that people there are very cheerful and friendly too.

There, the weather`s always warm and hot, and also very wet, it`s in the Middle of America (not USA), next to Cuba.

If I was I would like to stay most of the time at the beach, swimming or sleeping in a deck chair.

I don`t know if I would like to study there, but I guess I wouldn`t, cause I’m thinking in that place as a vacation place, instead of other kind.

Blog 2 Ideal job

I`ve been thinking about an ideal job for many years. I remember when I was a child, I wanted to be like my godfather. He`s an engineer. I guess the reason I wanted that job was mainly my admiration to him. After some years, I didn`t like that job anymore, specially because all the math it includes. Then, when I was kind of ten, all I wanted was a job to earn a lot of many, doing almost nothing. I suppose that`s actually the “ideal job”

My ideal job right now would be working in a Ministry, still don`t know which one.
It requires good skills solving problems, including people and facts, but with a solid theoretical base, having knowledge about history and numbers.
Also that job needs very important qualities such as integrity and honesty. That`s actually why we study the Public Administration principles.
I suppose I would be good at the job because I work hard and demand myself when required. Also I think I don`t have bad intentions, when It comes to other people things (and that`s ideal to administrate).
I think I also have equally skills (I`m not allergic to a subject in particular), but I lack social skills I guess, and that`s important to this kind of job, more than any other kinds.

Finding this kind of job is difficult because I suppose It`s the most important part in the field of Public Administration and because to get the job you need to have many contacts.

1: Welcome

First of all. My name`s José. That name was chosen by my mom, because of Christian religion, although I don`t consider myself quite pious.
I was born in 1992, so I`m 21.  I lived next to my grandma, until 2005. Then, we moved to Curacaví, because my father used to work there.
Unfortunately, he got ill, retired and we returned to our former home. Right now I live in Cerro Navia.
We are four in my family: my parents, my brother and me. We also have a cat since 2011. It`s quite tender.
My parents don`t get much along, that`s why my dad often go south to meet his family for some days. The weird part is that they aren`t divorced, but it`s like they are. Since he`s doing it, the house`s  more quiet and I improved my relationship with both of them.
I have a very good relationship with my brother; he`s almost 30 but it`s like he has my own age. We have similar interests and when we are together we laugh a lot with no reason. I don`t think I have many hobbies: I usually watch some series on tv or on the internet and I like listening to music
My favourite music style is rock music. I went to Black Sabbath concert last Friday. I was waiting for it quite anxious. I wanted to go to Iron Maiden´s but I didn´t have enough money.

My weaknesses in English are related to fluency and to making ideas in the language instead of trying to translate them. I also lack some vocabulary, and I can`t translate to other people while listening.

My expectations for this class are related to learn new words and to maintain a fluent conversation, improving mostly my speed while talking.
On the other side, I hope this course won`t be much hard, ´cause it`s kind of “optional”, and people who took it suppose to like the language, not the extreme stress.
