A remarkable day to me, maybe the most important of all, happened
in the summer of 2005. I remember it because it was the first time I went to my
father´s family place in the southern part of our country.
None of us but my dad wanted to go there, because the few
times we meet my father´s family, we find we aren´t much alike, and it´s often
an uncomfortable time.
My bro´s 7 years older than me, so you can understand we were
always arguing and fighting, mainly because he didn´t stop mocking me, and that pissed me off . But that summer something changed.
I associate it with the mental growth: I started to understand other things and to get other kind of jokes,
so I replied his mocking, making him laugh in a better way, at least to me.
One of those days, we started to talk and we found we had pretty
similar interests. We were talking all night long I guess, from the stupidest
thing to the way to solve all problems in life.
From then on, we got along very well, and we had a great
time that summer, even with the rest of the family... I suppose congeniality is
something you learn step by step.
I can tell it´s a remarkable day to my bro too, cause he
says it to me sometimes. Now, we always laugh at any nonsense together , but we also can
maintain serious conversations.
It´s said you don´t choose your family, but you can choose your friends. I suppose I started the most important friendship of all that day, one I hope to last forever.
